The best Birdeye alternative depends on what you were going to use Birdeye for. For review requests alone, NiceJob publishes a $75 plan with no contract, and $125 adds referrals. For reviews plus text-message inbox, Podium is the closest match. If you want reviews inside a full CRM that also answers your phone, look at GoHighLevel or Stack Space. And if you only do a few jobs a week, Google’s own free review link may be enough.
Birdeye is a strong product for multi-location brands. But its pricing is quote-only and built around annual contracts. For a single location, that means a sales demo just to learn a price you could otherwise compare in a minute. Below are five other options, with prices from the vendors’ own pages where they publish them (checked September 2026). We sell one of the five, so we’ve kept our cons in too.
Why do people look for a Birdeye alternative?
Mostly price and contract terms. Birdeye doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page is a quote form, and its own cost explainer (updated August 2026) says pricing is “custom and flexible, designed to align with the needs of multi-location enterprises,” sold on annual agreements.
Third-party teardowns fill in the numbers. CostBench and Contractor ToolStack (both viewed September 2026) report plans at $299, $349 and $449 per location per month, billed annually. Contractor ToolStack also reports onboarding at $500–$1,500 per location and 12-month auto-renewing contracts. These are reported figures, not Birdeye’s published prices, so treat them as a starting point for your own quote.
The “per location” part matters. A shop with three locations on the reported $349 plan pays over $1,000 a month before onboarding. That’s the reason the tool fits franchise brands better than a single plumbing or HVAC shop.
What does Birdeye do well?
First, what you’d give up. Birdeye’s listings product has “native, real-time integrations with Google, Facebook, Apple, Yelp, and Bing,” so your hours and address stay in sync where people search. And by its own description, its pricing and product are built for multi-location enterprises. If you’re a multi-location brand that needs that, most alternatives below are a step down.
If you’re one location that mainly wants more Google reviews, you’d be paying for a lot you won’t use.

1. NiceJob: best for reviews and referrals on a budget
NiceJob does one job and prices it plainly. Starter is $75/mo: automated review requests by text and email, review widgets for your site and a reviews microsite. Pro at $125/mo adds rebooking reminders, referral requests, automated review responses in your brand voice and NPS surveys. No contracts, and you can switch plans monthly.
- Pick it if reviews and referrals are the whole job and you already have a CRM or field-service app.
- Skip it if you want one system. It doesn’t answer calls, send invoices or run your pipeline.
Hear the receptionist take a real call — it rings your phone in about a minute.
2. Podium: closest to Birdeye for texting and reviews
Podium’s pricing page is quote-only too. Its Reviews product sends requests by text, and its AI Employee can be added to any plan to reply to leads. Our Podium pricing breakdown collects what third parties report it costs.
- Pick it if your customers live in text messages and you want a polished shared inbox.
- Skip it if you wanted to leave Birdeye because of quote-only pricing. You’ll be back on a sales call.
3. GoHighLevel: best for agencies and DIY builders
GoHighLevel lists reputation management on every plan: Starter $97/mo, Unlimited $297/mo, Agency Pro $497/mo. Listings management is a $30/mo add-on per sub-account, and the AI Employee add-on is $50 or $97/mo per sub-account.
- Pick it if you’re an agency reselling review management, or you like building your own funnels and automations.
- Skip it if you don’t want to learn a big platform. There’s a real learning curve, and the add-ons move the real bill well above $97. We did the maths in GoHighLevel pricing, explained.
4. Stack Space: best if the phone is where you lose jobs (ours)
Stack Space is a CRM with an AI receptionist built in, and review requests are part of it. After a job is marked complete or an invoice is paid, a workflow sends a review request. Every customer gets the same page, with the public review link for all and a private note box beside it. We don’t gate reviews, because Google bans it. The AI drafts replies to reviews for you to post. The same login runs the AI receptionist, which answers 24/7 and books onto your calendar, plus estimates, invoices and follow-up.
- Price: flat, no onboarding fee, no per-seat fees (up to 10 users on Launch and Starter, unlimited from Professional), cancel in the app. Review requests work on every plan, from Launch at $30/mo with 45 receptionist minutes. Starter at $125/mo has 250 minutes and adds the review section for your website and the AI Reputation Specialist, which writes your review requests for you. A button that drafts review replies is on every plan.
- Cons: we don’t sync your listings or pull reviews in from Google automatically; you log a review, then reply to it where it lives. Review requests go by email, with a text fallback for customers with no email on file. We’re new, with no track record or review wall of our own yet. Multi-location brands should look at Birdeye first.
5. Google’s free review link: best for a very small shop
You may not need software at all. Google’s help page says you can ask customers to “visit a Google link or scan a QR code” from your Business Profile. It’s part of your free Business Profile. Put it on your invoice, your truck and a follow-up email.
- Pick it if you do a few jobs a week and will remember to ask.
- Skip it if you don’t reliably ask. Asking automatically is what these tools are for.
What does each option cost in year one?
A worked example: one-location HVAC company, one crew, wants automatic review requests. List prices as above; your quote may differ.
| Option | Year-one cost | What you get for it |
|---|---|---|
| Birdeye (reported $299/mo + $500–$1,500 onboarding) | $4,088–$5,088 | Reviews, listings and a shared messaging inbox; the automated chatbot is reported on the $449 tier |
| NiceJob Starter ($75 × 12) | $900 | Automatic review requests by text and email, review widgets |
| GoHighLevel Starter ($97 × 12) | $1,164 | CRM and reviews; add $600–$1,164/yr for the AI Employee |
| Stack Space Launch ($30 × 12) | $360 | CRM, review requests, AI receptionist (45 minutes/mo) |
| Google link | $0 | Your time |
How to read it: if review requests are the whole job, NiceJob Starter is the more complete reviews tool. It texts customers from day one and adds widgets and a reviews microsite, and Pro ($1,500 a year) adds referrals and rebooking. Stack Space Launch costs less and runs the CRM too, but its 45 receptionist minutes cover only about 11–22 calls a month, and once minutes and any packs run out, the receptionist stops answering until you add more. A busy shop that wants the phone answered should price Starter at $1,500 a year, which comes with 250 minutes. Birdeye’s reported year one is three and a half to five and a half times the entry plans of NiceJob or GoHighLevel. The extra pays for listings sync and multi-location tools that a single shop mostly won’t use. Contractor ToolStack puts a single location with add-ons at around $7,600 in year one.
What should you check before you sign anything?
- Contract length and renewal notice. Ask for it in writing: is it monthly or annual, and how many days before renewal must you cancel?
- Per-location pricing. Get the price for your second location now, not after you open it.
- Onboarding fees. Ask if it’s optional or required.
- Export. Can you take your contacts and review history with you, and in what format?
- Review gating. Does the tool only send happy customers to Google? If it does, that breaks Google’s review policy, and your profile carries the risk.
- Texting rules. In the US, business texting from your own number needs carrier registration (called A2P 10DLC). Ask who handles it and what it costs.
FAQ
Is there a cheaper alternative to Birdeye?
Yes. NiceJob publishes $75 and $125/mo plans with no contract, GoHighLevel starts at $97/mo with reputation management included, and Stack Space includes review requests from its $30/mo Launch plan. Birdeye is quote-only; third-party teardowns report $299–$449 per location per month.
Birdeye vs Podium: which is better?
Both are quote-based. Birdeye is stronger on listings sync and multi-location management; Podium is known for text messaging and its shared inbox. If quote-only pricing is why you’re leaving Birdeye, Podium won’t fix that.
Does Birdeye have a monthly contract?
Birdeye says it sells on annual agreements with upfront or scheduled payments. Third-party teardowns report 12-month contracts that auto-renew, so ask about the cancellation notice period before signing.
Can I get Google reviews without paying for software?
Yes. Google Business Profile gives you a free review link and QR code. Software mainly helps by asking every customer automatically at the right moment, so nobody forgets.
What is the best Birdeye alternative for a small business?
For reviews only, NiceJob. For reviews plus a CRM that answers your phone, Stack Space, or GoHighLevel with its AI Employee add-on. For a one-location shop on a tight budget, start with Google’s free link.
