Launch27 is now sold as Automaid, owned by Fullsteam, at the same $75, $150 and $299 a month. If you’re leaving it, the closest swaps for a cleaning company are BookingKoala (from $27 a month, no contract) and ZenMaid (from $19), with Jobber or Housecall Pro if you want a general field-service app, and Maidily if you’re small. Below: what changed at Launch27, the contract terms worth reading before you renew, and the alternatives with their published prices as of October 2026.
What happened to Launch27?
Launch27 now runs under the name Automaid. Its terms of service (last updated 2 June 2026) name the company as “Fullsteam Software Holdings LLC DBA Automaid (Launch27), a subsidiary of Fullsteam Operations LLC.” The Automaid site describes itself as maid service software “trusted by 3,000 for 10+ years,” and Capterra’s listing now carries the Automaid name.
The prices haven’t moved. Per the pricing page:
| Plan | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Base | $75/mo ($765/yr) | Unlimited users and bookings, a basic booking form with Launch27 branding, email reminders, payroll reports |
| Pro | $150/mo ($1,530/yr) | Your own branding on the form, text reminders, Google Calendar, Zapier, QuickBooks, gift cards, review requests |
| Plus | $299/mo ($3,049.80/yr) | Automatic card pre-authorization and charging, cleaner and office mobile apps, “on the way” alerts, multiple locations |
Two things stand out. Charging cards automatically and the cleaner app are only on the $299 plan. And Launch27’s pricing page describes Pro’s review requests as “Automated Review Requests (Only the good ones)” (Automaid’s page now just says “Automated Review Requests”). Asking only happy customers is review gating; Google’s policy bans asking only happy customers for reviews, as our post on whether review gating is illegal explains.
Read the terms before you renew
The marketing says “no contracts,” but the terms of service say something different, unless your order form overrides them:
- The agreement runs 12 months and renews automatically for another 12 unless you give written notice at least 90 days before the end.
- Leave early and, where fees aren’t prepaid, you owe “the monthly Fee multiplied by the number of months remaining in the Term.”
- Fees are “nonrefundable and non-cancellable,” and the company “may adjust Fees at any time with thirty (30) days’ notice.”
- You must process payments through its own payment platform within 60 days, or it may raise your fees or add a processing charge.
If you signed up online, check your own order form or ask support which terms apply to you. If you’re planning to switch, put the renewal date in your calendar now, 90 days ahead of it.
Hear the receptionist take a real call — it rings your phone in about a minute.
Why cleaning companies look for an alternative
From public reviews (user opinions):
- Price against newer tools. A 2023 Capterra reviewer who moved to BookingKoala said it “has more features and is cheaper than the L27 plan I was on,” and that Launch27 refused to refund the unused months after leaving early (Capterra).
- The good features sit on the top plan. Auto-charging cards and the crew app need Plus at $299 a month.
- Few recent reviews. Its Capterra page shows 209 reviews at 4.7 stars, but the newest we found is from October 2024, and none from 2025 or 2026. That makes it hard to judge the product as it is today.
Launch27 alternatives compared (published prices, October 2026)
| Tool | Starting price | Contract | Recurring bookings | Charges cards automatically | Crew app | Phone answering |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BookingKoala | $27/mo (5 providers); $57 (15); $197 (50) | None | Yes | Charges cards from your account; its features page describes charging after the booking | Yes | No |
| ZenMaid | $19/mo (40 appointments); $39 and $49 unlimited, rising with team size | Month to month | Yes | Online payments with Stripe or Square | Yes (GPS tracking from Pro) | No |
| Maidily | Free (10 jobs/mo); $29 (50 jobs); $49 (150); $99 (250) | None | Yes | Online payments via Stripe | Yes | No |
| Jobber | $49/mo month to month (Core), more for teams (our review) | None on monthly | Yes | Yes, for recurring work | Yes | AI add-on, $29/mo |
| Housecall Pro | $79/mo monthly, $59 billed annually (1 user) | None | Yes (service-plan agreements on Max) | Online payments | Yes | CSR AI add-on, price not published |
| Stack Space | $30 / $125 / $355 / $800 a month | Monthly, cancel yourself | Repeating visits weekly to monthly; recurring invoices including every two weeks | Recurring invoices, once the client saves a card with consent | Web app on any phone | AI receptionist included, within plan minutes (45 to 1,500 a month) |
| Launch27 / Automaid | $75 / $150 / $299 a month | 12 months, per its terms | Yes | Plus plan only | Plus plan only | No |
Most of these offer a free trial; Stack Space doesn’t. Swept comes up in searches too; it’s built for commercial janitorial crews (scheduling, inspections, time tracking) rather than residential booking.
Which one should you pick?
BookingKoala is the closest like-for-like swap. Customers pick a service, see the price and book online, it charges the card after the clean, and it has a provider app. It’s priced by team size, starting at $27 for up to five providers, with no contract. The owner in the review above moved to it from Launch27.
ZenMaid is the cheapest paid plan at $19 a month, its mobile app is on every plan, and GPS tracking for cleaners starts on Pro. Check its calculator: the price rises with the number of cleaners and office staff.
Maidily suits a small or new company: free up to 10 jobs a month, and each recurring clean counts as a job.
Jobber or Housecall Pro make sense if you also do other trades, or want quoting, dispatch and invoicing in a general field-service app. Both sell AI phone answering as an add-on.
Stack Space is for a different problem. If what costs you jobs is the phone ringing while you’re cleaning, slow quotes, or chasing payment, it puts an AI receptionist on your line (within your plan’s minutes: 45 on the $30 plan, about 11–22 calls, or 250 on the $125 plan) that books onto its built-in calendar and moves or cancels a regular’s visit while they’re on the call. You set regulars to repeat weekly, every two weeks, every four weeks or monthly. Recurring invoices bill every week, every two weeks or monthly (on their own schedule, separate from the visits), charged automatically once the client saves a card, and review requests go to every client the same way when you mark the job done. What it doesn’t have is a cleaning-specific booking form that prices a clean by bedrooms and bathrooms; customers book a time through a booking link instead. If that instant quote form is what you rely on, BookingKoala or ZenMaid is the better fit. For the phone side specifically, see AI receptionist for a cleaning business.
How to switch without losing bookings
- Check your renewal date and notice period in the terms or your order form, and send written notice in time.
- Export your clients and recurring schedule before you cancel. Launch27’s list of who comes every week is the thing you can’t afford to lose.
- Run both for one cycle. Book next month’s recurring visits in the new tool while the old one finishes the current month.
- Move card payments last. Ask each regular to save their card in the new system before the old one stops charging.
- Change your website’s Book button on the day you switch, and test it as a customer would.
