If reviews are the main thing you use Podium for, you can get them for far less: Google’s own review link is free, Trustpilot is free for 50 invites a month, NiceJob is $75 a month, Reputation.com $80 per location, GoHighLevel $97, GatherUp (billed annually) and Grade.us $99, and Stack Space $125 with the review asks sent automatically when a job is done. Podium itself starts at $399 a month on Core, plus a $500 network fee per location, and it has no reviews-only plan.
Podium is a full messaging and AI platform, and for a multi-location business that lives in its inbox it can be worth the money. This post is for the owner who mostly wanted more Google reviews and is paying for everything else to get them. Every price below is from the vendor’s own page, opened November 1, 2026.
What does Podium include for reviews, and on which plan?
From Podium’s pricing page: Core is $399 a month and Pro $599, with a $500 network optimization fee per location. Every plan includes review requests on Google, Facebook and industry sites, review reminder automation, referral automation and AI review responses. Fully automatic AI review responses are an add-on on Core and included on Pro. Review response templates, response controls, review notes and closing a review are Pro only, and so are text and hosted surveys.
So Podium does reviews well. The catch is the price of entry: there’s no plan that sells you only the review part. Our Podium pricing breakdown has the full total.

Three notes on the table. Trustpilot collects reviews on Trustpilot, not Google, so it builds a different profile. Broadly is often named too: its review plans start at $79 a month, but automatic review requests are listed on its Premium plan, priced on request. And if you already run a field-service app, check its built-in option first: Housecall Pro lists review management from its Basic plan ($59 a month billed annually, pricing), and Jobber sends review requests after a visit, a completed job or a paid invoice through its Marketing Suite add-on (Jobber reviews), whose price Jobber doesn’t publish on that page.
Hear the receptionist take a real call — it rings your phone in about a minute.
Which one should you pick?
- Under 10 jobs a month: Google’s free link. Text it to every customer yourself when the job’s done. Our guide to getting more Google reviews has the wording.
- You want reviews on autopilot and nothing else: NiceJob at $75. Its Pro plan adds referral asks and NPS surveys for $125.
- Several locations and you want survey data: GatherUp or Reputation.com, both priced per location.
- You’re an agency managing reviews for clients: GoHighLevel or Grade.us, both built to run many accounts.
- You already pay for Jobber or Housecall Pro: use its review requests before adding another tool.

Can a review tool send unhappy customers to private feedback?
Some tools are built around a feedback-first page: the customer rates you, and only the happy ones are pointed to Google. That’s called review gating, and it’s a risk to your profile. Google’s contributor policy says businesses may not “discourage or prohibit negative reviews, or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers.” The FTC’s consumer reviews rule Q&A (the rule took effect October 21, 2024) says the rule doesn’t specifically ban asking only happy customers, but that the practice could still violate the FTC Act.
The safe setup is simple: every customer gets the same ask, and every customer can reach the public review link. A private feedback box is fine as long as it sits beside the public link. If a tool’s “review funnel” sorts customers by score before showing them where to review, turn that off. More in is review gating illegal?
Where does Stack Space fit?
Stack Space is a CRM with review asks built in, so it’s the pick if you also want the phone answered and the jobs tracked. When a job is marked done, the customer is asked for a review automatically, by text and email, and every customer gets the same ask: your public review link, once you’ve saved it in your settings. Until you do, the ask opens a page with an optional score and a private note box, so save the link first. The score decides nothing. You can also switch on a referral program that sends a two-sided referral ask after a finished job, with a reward you set.
It costs $125 a month (Starter) and includes the AI receptionist, estimates, invoices and the calendar. That’s more than NiceJob if reviews are all you want, and far less than Podium if you want the phones and follow-up too. There’s no free trial; it’s month to month.
FAQ
Is there a cheaper alternative to Podium for reviews? Yes. Google’s review link is free, and review tools with published prices start at $75 a month (NiceJob), with two at $99 (GatherUp billed annually, Grade.us), against Podium’s $399 Core plan plus a $500 fee per location (November 2026).
Does Podium have a reviews-only plan? No. Its pricing page lists Core ($399 a month), Pro ($599) and a custom Signature plan, each a bundle of messaging, reviews and AI. Some review tools, such as response templates and surveys, are Pro only.
Can I send unhappy customers to a private feedback form instead of Google? No. Google’s policy bans selectively asking happy customers for reviews, and the FTC says the practice could violate the FTC Act. Show every customer the public review link; a private feedback box can sit beside it.
Does Jobber or Housecall Pro ask for reviews automatically? Jobber sends review requests after a visit, completed job or paid invoice through its Marketing Suite add-on. Housecall Pro lists review management from its Basic plan; check how the ask is triggered on yours.
