RingCentral AI Receptionist (AIR) in 2026: price, features and alternatives

Hear the AI receptionist answer a real call — 60 seconds →

RingCentral’s AI Receptionist, called AIR, costs $49 a month on its own or $39 a month as an add-on to a RingEX phone plan, with 100 minutes included either way. Past that it’s $0.50 a minute, billed in 30-second steps. It answers 24/7, routes calls, answers questions from your website and documents, and books onto Google, Outlook or Calendly calendars. For a business taking about 80 calls a month, that comes to roughly $110 to $130 a month for AIR alone, depending on how much each call rounds up. Below: the published price, what it does, a worked month, and the alternatives as of October 2026.

How much does RingCentral AI Receptionist cost?

From RingCentral’s AI Receptionist pricing page, October 2026:

Standalone AIR AIR on RingEX
Monthly price From $49 From $39, plus your RingEX plan
Minutes included 100 100
Past the included minutes $0.50 a minute, or buy a minute bundle $0.50 a minute, or buy a minute bundle

RingCentral’s plans page notes that taxes and fees may apply on top. Two things to watch:

  • Two standalone prices are in circulation. RingCentral’s AIR Everywhere post (updated September 2026) prices the standalone version at $59 a month; a May 2026 RingCentral post and the pricing page say $49. Go by the pricing page, and confirm on your order.
  • AIR Pro is billed differently. RingCentral also sells AIR Pro, a newer agent product; its AI session rates list $1.00 a session (up to one voice minute, or up to 10 digital messages). Don’t mix the two up when comparing.

100 minutes is about 25 to 50 calls at two to four minutes each, so most businesses that rely on AIR will pay for extra minutes.

What does RingCentral AIR do?

From RingCentral’s AI Receptionist page and its 2026 product updates:

  • Answers 24/7: “during business hours, after hours, weekends, and holidays.”
  • Routes calls “by names, departments, locations, keywords, or conversation context,” and passes the caller’s details and a call summary on a transfer.
  • Answers questions from your website, FAQs, uploaded documents, business hours, services and policies.
  • Books appointments on Google or Outlook calendars, and through Calendly it can book, reschedule and cancel; it can also book by text.
  • Speaks English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese, and can switch languages mid-conversation.
  • Works with other phone systems. Standalone AIR can sit in front of an existing cloud, on-premises or hybrid phone system, so you don’t have to switch to RingCentral.
  • Connects to CRMs including Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoho.

It answers calls; RingCentral doesn’t describe it making outbound calls.

Hear the receptionist take a real call — it rings your phone in about a minute.

What does AIR cost in a real month?

Say 80 calls a month at about three minutes each: roughly 240 minutes.

Option How it adds up About
Rosie Professional 250 minutes; texts a booking link (calendar booking needs the $149 plan) $49
Quo with Sona $19 seat + $49 tier for up to 100 calls (our Quo Sona post) $68
Goodcall Starter Under 100 different callers $79
Beside Unlimited Flat, unlimited calls $99
Stack Space Launch $30 (45 min) + three 100-minute packs at $24, about 345 minutes; Launch’s 150 texts cover call summaries for only about 50 to 75 calls $102
RingCentral AIR on RingEX $39 + 140 extra minutes × $0.50 (30-second rounding adds a little), plus the RingEX plan you already pay for $109+ and RingEX
RingCentral AIR standalone $49 + 140 extra minutes × $0.50 (30-second rounding adds a little) $119+
Stack Space Starter 250 minutes + a 100-minute pack (each call rounds up to the minute); 800 texts $149
Smith.ai AI Receptionist Pro 75 calls + 5 × $2.50 about $163

So AIR is mid-priced at this volume among receptionists that book on the call, and cheapest for a RingCentral customer whose calls are short. The per-minute rate is what to watch: at 500 minutes a month, standalone AIR is about $249.

Is RingCentral AIR worth it?

Yes, if you already run RingCentral, or you want an AI layered on your current phone system without changing it, and you mostly need calls answered and routed. Routing by department and location, six languages and CRM connections are its strengths, and the 14-day trial lets you test it on real calls.

Think harder if your calls run long or your volume is high, since every minute past 100 is $0.50, or if you want the call to turn into a quote and an invoice without retyping: AIR books the appointment, but the rest of the job lives in whatever system you run.

Many reviews of AIR online, ours included, come from vendors that sell competing receptionists. The useful test is your own: forward your line during the trial, call it with your three hardest calls, and read what lands.

Where Stack Space fits

Stack Space is a CRM with the AI receptionist built in. The receptionist Stax trains answers your line 24/7 within your plan’s minutes, asks what the caller needs, and books onto the calendar built into Stack Space (Outlook sync available). It moves or cancels an existing appointment while the caller is on the phone, emails the confirmation, and transfers callers to you live when they ask for a person, have an emergency, or are upset and it can’t help, if you set a transfer number. After the call, the transcript is on the contact, and the estimate, invoice and review request go out from the same record.

Plans are $30 (45 minutes), $125 (250), $355 (900) and $800 (1,500) a month. Past your minutes you buy prepaid packs that never expire (100 for $24, 500 for $105); without one, callers hear a short message that you can’t take the call right now, the call is logged as missed, and your missed-call text-back goes out if you’ve switched it on. Nothing bills per minute on its own. There’s no free trial; you pay monthly and cancel yourself.

Where RingCentral is stronger: it’s a full business phone system with desk phones, video and team calling, AIR routes across departments and locations, and it speaks six languages. Stack Space isn’t a phone system, and if routing a busy multi-location switchboard is the job, AIR is built for it. You can keep your number with either; our guide to forwarding calls to an AI receptionist has the carrier codes.
